Featuring over sixty works by fifty artists drawn primarily from the Whitney’s permanent collection, this exhibition offers an expanded understanding of the complexity of American art produced between 1900 and 1930. While visitors will likely be familiar with well-known artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe and Marsden Hartley, At the Dawn of a New Age will also present work by many similarly groundbreaking modernists who have been largely forgotten. For this event, the curator will provide an introduction to the exhibition followed by an opportunity for audience members to ask questions.
